A couple of years ago, I posted an interview with Jenni Catron, the Executive Director of Cross Point Church in Nashville, TN. She mentioned that women were beginning to serve in key leadership roles on a consistent basis.
This week, I ran across an interesting article by One Minute MBA that provided several reasons why women make a great addition to senior leadership teams:
- The Harvard Business Review reports that firms with women on their boards saw 42% higher sales returns, a 66% higher return on invested capital and a 53% higher return on equity over firms that did not.
- Superior communication skills.
- Women in management were rated 11.58 percentile points above their male peers at taking initiative in the workplace by the Harvard Business Review.
- High emotional intelligence
This video makes it clear that women bring unique skills and perspectives to senior leadership teams.
