How do we know? The stats don’t lie.
With so much information at our fingertips, it’s tough to know where to begin. Trends, especially in the communications world, are ever-changing. But, this is one we’re a fan of.
Podcasts have been around for a while now, but their popularity hasn’t. Research shows that 64% of Americans have heard of podcasts, and only 44% have actually listened. But, it’s safe to say they’re resonating well. Over the past year, podcast fans listen to 40% more shows than they did the previous year. There is something for everyone, and you can listen on your way to work, taking a walk, or with a free 15 minutes in your day.
Every so often, we like to check in with our team to see what podcasts are resonating with them and pass them along to you.
Why? Because we’re big fans of how well wisdom and practical next steps can be shared through this medium. Give it a try. We can almost guarantee you’ll decide it’s more fun than reading an article.
Here are a few podcasts we’ve been checking out lately:
Kids Ministry Answers (Stuff You Can Use)
With a strong Kids Ministry, we believe kids will drag their parents to church. Serving as active children’s ministry pastors, TJ and Carlee approach each episode with practical knowledge and great expertise. Have a specific question that isn’t addressed? Submit your questions to KMAnswers.com.
Youth Ministry Podcast (Stuff You Can Use)
From small group leaders to youth ministry strategy, this podcast highlights ways to create an irresistible youth ministry culture.
StartUp Podcast (Gimlet)
While titled as “a documentary series about entrepreneurial life,” the current season of the StartUp Podcast focuses on all things church planting. Tony Morgan recommended this himself. So on your next commute, check it out.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t also recommend The Unstuck Church Podcast, hosted by Tony Morgan. If you like reading Tony’s content, you’ll like listening even more. Tony and Amy Anderson from our team release a new 15 minute episode each week, focusing on topics from leadership, staffing, ministry strategy and more. They take the real-time conversations our team is having each week about helping churches get unstuck, and invite you to listen in.
Also, we start a conversation on social media each week around the latest episode topic, using the hashtag #unstuckchurch. Hope to see you there.
