Alliance Community Fellowship’s Story
Church leaders bring us in for lots of reasons. While attendance decline is a common one, sometimes forward-thinking pastors connect with us when growth is flat or slower than in previous years.
Alliance Community Fellowship in Fort Worth, Texas was a church like that.
The church was growing, but not at the pace they thought it could in the community where they are situated. They saw their mission field clearly, and they wanted to discover some ways to better engage the people around them.
Executive pastor Tim Bach reached out to our team to bring a process that could help them build a culture of unity on the staff team around a clear mission, vision and strategy.
Priorities Identified
- Build a leadership pathway
- Overhaul communications strategy
- Clarify discipleship pathway
- Enhance the campus
- Align the staff team
How long did it take to get traction?
In the first month, the leaders at Alliance Community Fellowship developed their teams around the priorities they defined during the Unstuck Process. It took 3-6 months to get the plans formed and start implementing them. They didn’t find real success completely handing over initiatives to lay teams, but they found impressive success organizing lay teams and led by a staff champion.
Around the six month mark, Tim was seeing impact:
- No more confusion on leadership/discipleship pathways
- Improved communication strategy and systems
- Property upgrades in progress
- Improved staff accountability tied to shared goals
What results have they seen since?
- Attendance more than doubled
- Giving more than tripled
- They planted two new churches
- Volunteer engagement increased from 18% to 60%+
- They saw 1,000 at Christmas for the first time
Let me share a few comments from Tim that have been encouraging our team:
“We tore down everything we were doing and rebuilt. We implemented the plans and are now able to measure our activity against clear targets. The staff is the most unified it has ever been. We’ve built culture around clear mission, message, model and methods.
“And our church family moved from spectators to participants. We’ve seen our people become willing to give, serve and lead… to become real disciples.
“We’re revisiting the tools we got from Unstuck all the time to maintain alignment.”
We are celebrating with Tim and the team at Alliance Community Church! Stories like this are why we do what we do.
Six months after completing the Unstuck Process, 9 out of 10 pastors say they’d recommend us to another church—because they are seeing real results.
We bring a process that helps pastors assess ministry health, draw out the vision God’s given them for the future, and create the team structure and action plans to see it through.
