This week I connected with Charles Stone to talk about his new book, People Pleasing Pastors. During the interview Charles shared several insights on people pleasing.

  • Saying yes to things you shouldn’t say yes to can lead to a high level of misery and can create additional problems.
  • 91% of pastors admit to people pleasing at some level.
  • Pastors should recognize that God wired them to help others. There can be “good” people pleasing.
  • Pastors tend to people please to make the anxiety of failing go away.
  • If a pastor meets every need of the church then he cannot be an effective leader.
