    Quarterly Unstuck Church Report

Football season recently kicked off and weekends are finally more than lawn mowing and car washing! With it comes a constant reminder of the power of a team. Think about it: 11 players, each with different skills, playing a different position while running the same play together. When everyone does their individual part with excellence, teammates accomplish more than they ever could on their own.

What if every church staff operated like a good football team? Imagine the impact that would be made if each leader had a clear role in a much bigger play that focused the entire church in the same direction. Unfortunately, few churches experience this level of teamwork.

Many church leaders operate more like referees. They spend more time telling each other what they aren’t allowed to do than they do dreaming up ways to advance their mission.

Others look more like a cheerleading squad than an actual team. They constantly applaud and affirm each other even when they are losing terribly. Most of these staffs know they aren’t effective but they lack the courage to admit it to each other.

Even worse, some staffs are about as passionate as the concession stand employees. They honestly don’t even know the score of the game. They’re just going through the motions, serving the same products in the same ways year after year.

Both The Unstuck Group and Vanderbloemen Search Group are passionate about seeing church teams get unstuck. That’s why we’re partnering to seek new insights on the staffing and structure of churches around the country. But we can’t do it without your help. Regardless of which type of team you serve on, we need your experience and insights in this area.

Will you take 8 minutes to share your experience with church staffing and structure? By completing this survey, you’ll gain early access to everything we learn. We’re excited to share the results and help more church leaders truly play like a team!
