Ramon Medina has shepherded the Spanish congregation at Champion Forest Baptist Church since 2006 as their Lead Pastor. As the son of a Baptist pastor who grew up in Cali (Colombia-South America), Ramón was always in church. At the age of 10 he had an encounter with Jesus that marked his life forever. In his youth years, he led groups of children, youth and actively participated in different ministries of his church, Primera Iglesia Bautista of Cali, Colombia. Pastor Medina earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from ICESI University in Cali, Colombia, a Master of Arts in Missiology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, and has completed additional graduate studies in theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He graduated with his Doctorate of Ministry degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
God has used Ramon to help many churches in North America start their ministries in Spanish. Under his leadership, the Spanish congregation of Champion Forest grew from 60 to over 3,000 every Sunday. Ramon’s passion is missions and multicultural ministries, evangelism, and building healthy families grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ramon is married to his wife, Nhora, who shares Ramon’s passion for ministry. Ramon and Nhora reside in Spring, Texas with their two sons, Daniel, and Mateo.
